This Privacy Statement describes how Baker & McKenzie LLP (“Baker McKenzie”) collects, uses, and discloses certain personal information obtained through our global public websites at www.bakermckenzie.com and bakerxchange.com (“Websites”). The website for a local Baker McKenzie office may have a privacy statement that differs from this Privacy Statement. Please review the website privacy statement for the relevant local office for any information that applies specifically to that local office. This Privacy Statement does not address information collection through other sources such as in-person seminars or an attorney’s personal contacts. By visiting the Website(s) you are accepting and consent to the practices and provisions set out in this Privacy Statement.
Personal Information Collection and Use
In general, you can visit our Websites without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. There are times, however, when we ask for personally identifiable information from you, such as your name, company, e-mail address, phone number, and address as well as other personal contact details (“Personal Information”). We request this information in order to:

Please note that if you reply to a Baker McKenzie address in one of our marketing e-mails or otherwise send a communication to us, your communication will not create a lawyer-client relationship with us. Do not send us any information that you or anyone else considers to be confidential or secret unless we have first agreed to be your lawyers in that matter. We may share information we obtain about you, including Personal Information among our member law firms for purposes of responding to your requests or otherwise as necessary for the purposes described above. If we are required to share your Personal Information we will use reasonable endeavours to notify you in advance, unless we are legally restricted from doing so or it is otherwise not practicable to do so.
International Data Transfers
These Websites are hosted on our web servers in the United States. If you are located in a non-US jurisdiction, for example in the European Economic Area ("EEA") / European Union ("EU") you agree that the provision of Personal Information or other access to our Websites constitutes your consent to the transfer of such data/information, including Personal Information, to the United States, a jurisdiction that may not provide an equivalent level of data protection to the laws in your home country however we have procedures in place to ensure the protection of your information, including your Personal Information.
